The Group

WhiteCap Group is comprised of a group of independent consultants, who are available - as needed - for particular assignments. Each assignment is different, so the consulting group is tailor-made to fit the project. Below is a representative list of some of the consultants who are available to work on WhiteCap Group projects.

Andrew Rasiej

Andrew Rasiej is a veteran of the music and technology industries, and an accomplished entrepreneur. He was co-founder of DCN, the world's largest aggregator of live music recordings, and he currently serves as DCN's chairman. Prior to DCN, he founded New York City's Irving Plaza, which he built into one of the top internationally known concert venues before selling it to SFX Entertainment. Rasiej was also the co-founder of the "Plug-In" conference, the preeminent gathering of the music and technology elite, focusing attention on the ways that music will be produced and distributed digitally. In addition, Rasiej was the Founder and President of MOUSE (Making Opportunities for Upgrading Schools and Education), which enlists technology professionals from Silicon Alley to volunteer their time and expertise in helping to integrate technology into public schools.

Rasiej serves on the New York City Board of Education's task force on technology and has spearheaded several innovative projects that support efforts to bridge the "digital divide" in public education. Andrew received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art and is a graduate of the David Rockefeller Fellowship program.

David Sass

David Sass is founder and president of the marketing and consulting firm Apel, Inc. Sass is an experienced business executive with a proven track record for successful development and implementation of unique, effective, profitable brand- and revenue-building programs. A creative strategist with a fierce commitment to excellence in execution, he combines the disciplined approach of traditional packaged goods marketing with a thorough understanding of the dynamic, fast paced world of entrepreneurial ventures and the unique challenges they present.

Since leaving SFX after it was acquired by Clear Channel during summer 2000, Sass has been a principal with Apel, Inc., providing strategic revenue development and consulting services to a variety of established and emerging companies, including: The United States Tennis Association (US Open), Disney Theatrical Productions (Lion King, Aida, etc.), Time Life Music, New York Power (Women's Professional Soccer), Visa, Primedia, Creative Battery (division of Anschutz Entertainment Group), Chicago - The Musical, and Rockefeller Center.

By leveraging his knowledge and experience as a brand marketer he has successfully packaged and sold sponsorships and marketing partnerships that account for more than $100 million dollars in cash (and many times that in marketing support) to companies like: American Express, J P Morgan Chase, Coca Cola, XM Satellite Radio, Sprint, Visa, Discover Card, American Airlines, Kodak, Intercontinental Hotels, Levi's, General Motors, etc.

As founding President of SFX Live, Sass was responsible for leading a team dedicated to creating, packaging and selling national and regional live entertainment marketing partnerships, and servicing those marketing partners. SFX offered the first nationwide, year-round "network" of live entertainment producers promoters and venues.

Prior to joining SFX, Sass had 10 years of entertainment marketing experience with Radio City Music Hall and Mandalay Live! He worked on a diverse array of blue chip properties and events, including: The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Super Bowl Halftime Shows, Moscow Circus, and countless concerts by top musical artists.

Sass began his career in packaged goods marketing, with 10 years of experience at Lever Brothers and J. Walter Thompson. While working on new products and existing businesses, he was exposed to every element of the marketing mix and honed the strategic, analytical, and team-building skills that form the foundation for his approach to marketing and sales.

Sass has an MBA in marketing and finance from Syracuse University.

Ted Werth

Ted Werth is an experienced entrepreneur, with several successful ventures to his credit. Mr. Werth is currently a partner in the up-and-coming, boutique alcoholic beverage company, Original Sin Hard Cider. He also was the co-founder (in 1998) of DCN (Digital Club Network), which established an exclusive network of top-tier music venues around the country, recording and webcasting live performances every night. At the time of its sale to Dimensional Associates in 2003, DCN had established itself as the premier live music record label, had created the world's largest catalog of live music recordings, and was the world's largest webcaster of live concert performances. Prior to DCN, Mr. Werth was the co-founder of WP-Studios, one of Silicon Alley's first web production houses, in 1994. WP-Studios created the popular and critically acclaimed TotalNY.com city guide and the experimental new media art collaborative, Adaweb (both acquired by AOL's Digital City, Inc. in 1997). WP-Studios' production and consulting company, The Primary Group, was later acquired by Agency.com. Prior to WP-Studios, Mr. Werth handled ancillary licensing at Arista Records and special projects at TVT Records. Mr. Werth sits on the board of Harvestworks, a non-profit organization supporting the use of new technologies in art, and is a frequent advisor to start-ups and early stage companies.

Mr. Werth graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business as Chairman of the undergraduate honors program, with dual degrees in marketing and communications.

Simon Lait (Based in the UK)

Simon Lait is an experienced entrepreneur and executive with extensive experience in the media, entertainment, and finance industries. Lait currently serves as a director for Charly Acquisitions Limited, which owns more than 150,000 master audio recordings. He is also in the process of overseeing the creation of the world's largest independently held music copyright bank (Licensemusic.com), which will provide an online licensing platform combining the trading of pre-cleared and pre-priced library music with the interactive online negotiation and licensing of major artist recordings.

Lait previously served as Executive Vice President, International Operations of Atomic Pop, where he was responsible for the company's business outside the US, including setting up and managing the UK office, developing strategic alliances, content acquisition, sales and marketing. He was also Founder and Managing Director of The Success Group Limited, which engineered a range of "boutique" residential and commercial mortgage products funded by UK and European financial institutions. The Success Group loaned more than £80 million in mortgage finance, and launched and marketed an innovative product range. The business was ultimately sold to a major insurance group. Lait's diverse background also includes successful ventures in the publishing and advertising industries, as well as experience as a video and record producer, artist manager and promoter, songwriter and recording artist for RCA Records and Barclay Records. Lait currently lives and works outside of London.
